Woodworking Workshop
At CMS we have a very well equipped woodworking workshop, with a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, chisels, sanders, hammers, a router, screwdrivers and much more - and the collection is always improving!
Community Space
We also have a community space above the workshops, a large open space where we hold craft sessions, community workshops and monthly repair cafe’s.
Unfortunately at this time it is not accessible to people with limited mobility
Textiles Studio
We have a fully equipped textiles studio, with a fleet of sewing machines, an overlocker, a CNC embroidery machine, a draughting table and enough sewing tools to fill a haberdashery shop
Kitchenette
Nobody enjoys working on an empty stomach, so we have a small kitchen area where you can prep and eat quick snacks, meals and drinks. So whether you’ve come straight from the gym and not had time to eat, or you just fancy a snack, there’s facilities to recharge ready to create.
CAD/CAM Suite
The CAD/CAM suite has a fleet of 3D printers, a laser cutter and engraver, and a vinyl cutter, and we are constantly adding to the set up to provide more machines!
Hireable Storage
Don’t feel like taking your project home with you between sessions? We can help! With a small bank of hireable lockers, you can store your projects and materials safely, ready for your next session (we just ask that you don’t store tools - that way everyone has access to everything)
Painting Booth
We also have a painting booth, a safe space to spray, brush and dip anything you want to get the surface finish you need. We also have a stock of paints available to use, and are able to supply other paints through the shop if we don’t currently have what you are looking for.
The Shop
Forgotten the all important finishing piece for your project, or just need a piece of material to prototype? We have a wide variety of materials, tools and consumables ready to buy, with the ability to order non-stocked items at trade prices, so we may be able to supply cheaper than you can find online!
